FOTOAWARD.org - an international photography contest and on-line exhibition with a large Russian-speaking international audience.

  • Only experienced photographers are invited. As participation is by invitation only, the number of participants is relatively small.
  • Photographers and entries that have won other competitions are welcome. The shooting date is not important.
  • Participation is free.
  • The winners of the 2024 photo contest will be awarded the latest models of filters from contest sponsor HOYA Filters/Kenko Tokina, as well as personalized medals, diplomas, and honorary ribbons from the APE (the representative of FIAP in Russia). There will be other prizes that will be announced later.
  • Invited photographers post their entries on the separate contest exhibition website foto.d3.ru.
  • The audience that watches and initially evaluates photographs is vast and diverse, representing many countries and degrees of photographic experience – from non-photographers "unbiased by photo prejudices" to well-known professional photographers. There are no praises from friends, as may be typical on other photo sites. Purchase of a d3.ru membership is neither required nor sufficient to participate.
  • There is no limit to the number of entries from each author, except two entries per day.
  • Preliminary approval of entries may be required before publication. Such prior moderation is particularly required for staged photographs in portraiture and nude.
  • Every month, the audience vote determines the ten best works (TOP10), which receive diplomas and are automatically entered into the final round of the competition, bypassing the semi-final.
  • At the end of the year, all entries are evaluated during the semifinal and final stages by two professional juries consisting of well-known and esteemed photographers from various countries.
  • The competition is transparent, as anyone can view how the audience is voting, and the numbers of the jury votes are visible. Winners are selected automatically by a tabulation of the overlap of jury votes. Everyone can take part in demo-voting in the same format as the jury.
  • No nominations by genre.
  • Titles of works are required.
  • Watermarks are allowed. Note that a large watermark can sometimes be received negatively by some jury members.
  • Composite images and computer manipulation are allowed, but it must be indicated in the publication tags unless it is obvious. Entrants must provide the original image, including RAW file, if there is one, upon request. The use of elements created by other authors or generated using AI is not allowed.
  • Minimum age to participate is 18.
  • Dimensions: 1200 pixels or greater on the longest side, file size under 4 MB, format jpeg/jpg or png.
  • Additional rules or clarifications may be posted at foto.d3.ru.
  • The last day to post for the 2024 Photo Contest is December 31st, 2024.
  • Copyrights remain with the authors. Authors agree to the use of their works for the promotion of the competition on various Internet resources with the indication of their authorship.

  • To participate send an application to fotoaward@mail.ru, including:
    1. Your first and last name, city, and country in the email subject line.
    2. A link to a site(s) with your works, including social media channels such as Instagram, FB, etc.
    3. Links to 5-10 works that you wish to submit to the competition (or you may attach the works themselves).
    4. If accepted, you will be sent an invitation and further instructions.
